Abortion Risks

A woman who experiences an abortion is physically, emotionally, and spiritually at risk. Some of the various physical risks, depending on the type of abortion one has, could be heavy bleeding, injury to the uterus and/or the cervix, infection, damage to organs, future pre-term births, and possibly death. Emotional/psychological risks can include depression, drug and alcohol abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, and suicide or suicidal thoughts. Spiritual risks can consist of guilt, unworthiness, shame, and lack of forgiveness for self. Let The Women's Help Center help you in your decision-making process.
